As the landscape for the North American karting community continues to change, ROK Cup Promotions is pleased to announce that the very popular Challenge of the Americas (COTA) series will make the switch to the Vortex ROK engine platform, Bridgestone tire line and take on the role of the first ROKKER program on the West Coast. Known for great racing in a family and team friendly environment, the Challenge of the Americas will continue to offer some of the best racing in the country in the first quarter of the year and beyond as they work to expand their program even further. Some of the prize packages planned include tickets to the ROK International Finals in South Garda, Italy, as well as the ROK Cup USA Finals.
Making the move from ten years as a predominantly Rotax platform, the Challenge of the Americas will now transition to Vortex powerplants. The very competitive COTA program will continue to focus on its great customers and building a bright future, as 2018 will be their 11th consecutive season.
“On behalf of everyone at ROK Cup Promotions, Vortex and Bridgestone, I am pleased that we have Andy Seesemann, Full Throttle Karting and the Challenge of the Americas on board,” explained Director of Operations Garett Potter. “Andy is a major player in the karting industry and has run a successful series for ten seasons now on top of his kart shop business. His dedication to the karting community and willingness to help at every turn always puts a smile on racers faces. He continues to evolve his program to keep up with the times and found a perfect fit with the Vortex ROK powerplant and Bridgestone tires. We look forward to helping him build his series back to the numbers they once were only a few years ago under his new ROK banner.”
“I am happy and excited to have a new path to head down in 2018 and can’t wait to get started,” explained Seesemann. “In the very near future, we will be announcing our 2018 schedule. We are also looking at the possibilities of a special kickoff event for 2017, ROKKEN the West Coast, with prize packages that will involve invitations to the 2017 ROK International Finals for Mini, Junior, Senior and Shifter while the Micro ROK champion will get an invite to the ROK Cup United States Finals.”
Along with the Challenge of the Americas program making the switch to the Vortex family, Full Throttle Karting will become a Vortex Engine and Bridgestone Tire dealer in California. Looking to help bring ROK to the western half of the United States, FTK will be the Bridgestone fulfillment and distribution center for the West Coast.
Potter continued, “We know how important it is for the West Coast to grow. Racers need to count on parts in a timely manner, without a bunch of added shipping costs. With the tire being one of the biggest costs to ship, this partnership will ensure that you get what you need, when you need it, at a cost you can afford. FTK, Vortex and Bridgestone have a long-term vision for the West Coast, and we will work very close with FTK as the ROK program grows and expand as needed.”
Full Throttle Karting and Challenge of the Americas, in conjunction with ROK Cup Promotions will offer a trade in program for drivers of the series as well as new customers. Details will be announced in the near future.
Committed to building, growing and managing the Vortex ROK program, ROK Cup Promotions will have support staff on site for each and every Challenge of the Americas event. This ROK Promotions dedicated employee will work with teams and drivers making sure that they are getting the best out of their equipment, but also act as a liaison between the customers, series and engine manufacturer to further develop and support the Vortex ROK and Bridgestone brand.
Please stay tuned for details regarding ‘ROKKEN the West Coast’, as officials look for a possible 2017 date for this one-off annual summer karting event.
