Cascadia Karting Cup Event Format

The Cascadia Karting Cup event will consist of a Friday practice day, which will be organized by the host track, and divided into sessions by class.

If necessary, transponders will be used in the final session to set Saturday qualifying groups for any classes with more than 25 entries.  After the session, the entrants will be ranked according to fast time.  The fastest 50% of the field will be listed as Group A and the rest will be listed as Group B.  In the event there are an odd number of participants, Group A will have the greater number of participants by one competitor.  This will determine the qualifying groups.  On Saturday, Group B will qualify first, followed by Group A.

Saturday will consist of one warmup session per class, followed by qualifying and 3 short heat races.  Qualifying position will determine the starting position for all 3 heat races.  Competitors will start all 3 heat races in the same position determined by qualifying.

Heat points will be accumulated by each driver, with zero points awarded for a win, followed by matching points per finishing position (ie 2 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, etc.).  Total points will be tallied at the end of the day and the drivers ranked by lowest points to highest.  This will determine the starting position for the SuperHeat.

Sunday will consist of one warmup session, followed by longer SuperHeat and a Final race.  SuperHeat finishing position will determine the starting position for the Final race.

The finishing positions of the Final race will be the final order for the event.
