March 2, 2014 – Looking forward on the Rotax karting calendar, Miller Motorsports Park and MAXSPeed Group have begun to finalize plans for the 2014 Rotax Summer Shootout. Dubbed as the final unofficial test before the annual Rotax MAX Challenge United States Grand Nationals, the Shootout will take place three weeks prior to the annual Grand National event over the June 27-29 weekend.
“We are really excited for the Rotax Summer Shootout this year,” explained MAXSpeed’s Group Josh Smith. “Thanks to Miller Motorsports Park and Justin Bloxham, the event has come together without a hitch and the prize package continues to grow.”
MAXSpeed’s Richard Boisclair continued, “Online registration is already open, over four months before the race. With the help of Miller Motorsports Park, we are looking to make this year’s Shootout the most well attended in recent years. We have also set up a partner hotel and finalized the weekend schedule. It is going to be a great event.”
“The event is coming together as planned as we look to have everything set well in advance for the convenience of the Rotax competitor,” stressed Miller Motorsports Park’s Justin Bloxham. “We are working diligently to cross our T’s and dot our I’s to ensure the Shootout is a great event as well as to add to the already substantial prize and award package.”

Rotax Senior – $3,500.00 purse
1st place – $2,000.00

Making the event as attractive as possible, the staff at Miller Motorsports Park and MAXSpeed Group has tried to decrease costs for each and every team and competitor. Pre-registration is already open at the above-mentioned link for a cost of $75.00 per event day while on-site registration will $90.00 per day. One set of Mojo tires purchase is mandatory per entry. Friday practice will be $60.00 per driver. Other event costs include transponder rentals at $20.00, 12×40 paddock space at $35.00 each while a garage pit space will be only $225.00 for a 20×30. Mechanic passes will be $20.00 per person and spectators can enter the facility for only $5.00 per person. RV spots will be offered with and without power for $105.00 and $30.00.
Smith added, “Also, with only three weeks between the Shootout and the Grand Nationals, competitors will be able to save some fuel and travel money by leaving their trailers on site in Utah. The track has been exceptional in working with us to help our Rotax customers.”
