The inaugural Cascadia Karting Cup presented by Shinko Racing Kart Tires was held at the Pat’s Acres Racing Complex over the October 2-4 weekend. The Canby, Oregon facility is a landmark in North American karting, having the privilege of welcoming Pacific Northwest racers and teams to the inaugural one-off event to celebrate the 2026 season. Weather over the three days of action was perfect for event promoter FTK Promotions, marking the third time of hosting an event at PARC over the last few seasons.

“It was fun to return to probably my favorite karting facility in the US,” stated Andy Seesemann of FTK Promotions. “I first came to Pat’s Acres more than 25 years ago and immediately fell in love with the place. The Egger family and I have been friends for many years, with almost every member of their family helping at my events at one point or another. The PARC was the obvious facility to organize the first ever Cascadia Karting Cup event and I hope to return in the future as the CKC program develops.”

The 18-lap Final featured three drivers at the front with Carrasco and Allen joined by Franzke. Carrasco led the first 11 laps before the fighting increased as he and Franzke exchanged the top spot multiple times. On the final circuit, Allen was able to come away with the lead and the victory by 23 thousandths. Carrasco settled for second with Franzke in third. Nic Ereminas and Bott completed the top five.

Veteran drivers led the way in the Shifter Light division, featuring 11 competitors. Kyle Wick, who finished 11th at the recent FIA Karting KZ2 World Cup in France, set a fast time of 45.069 in qualifying to edge out his brother Conner by 96 thousandths. Kyle led all 11 laps of the first two heat races before Conner got the holeshot in the third heat. Conner led the first five laps before Kyle grabbed the lead and the win. Kyle jumped out to the lead in the Super Heat, leading the first four laps before Cooper Becklin muscled his way by in turn two. Wick ended up off the track, and out of the race. Then on lap 10 when Conner Wick suffered a broken exhaust, forcing him to retire. Becklin went unchallenged to the win and pole position for the Final. The 21-lap main event was a wire-to-wire performance for Becklin, taking the victory by over two seconds with Kyle Wick climbing to second. Conner Wick followed him through to third with Lukas Eyth fourth and Enzo Noel in fifth.

The action in Shifter Heavy was a near sweep. Joey Wimsett was the driver to beat throughout the weekend, setting fast time in qualifying and winning the opening heat races. Wimsett led all 14 laps of the Super Heat to retain the pole position for the Final. The main event had Wimsett leading the first five laps until a mechanical issue put Joey on the sideline. This handed the top spot and the victory to Seth Huntley, earning the top spot by 22 seconds ahead of Scott Chaffeur with Thomas Beck in third.

The action in 100cc Masters was made up of two different days. The opening day of action was led by Chad Wallace. He was the only driver to record a lap in qualifying under the 50-second mark. Wallace went on to win all three heat races on Saturday to retain the pole position for the Super Heat. Enter Seth McCauley into the chat. McCauley started fifth after missing the heat races and drove up to the win over Wallace. McCauley completed the Sunday sweep, leading all 20 laps of the Final to record the victory. Two drivers battled for the top spot all weekend in 100cc Junior. Jameson Widmer struck first as he cleared the eight driver field in qualifying by over a tenth. Second in the session was DJ Davis, who came away with the win in the opening heat race. Widmer struck back in Heat Two with the win before Davis took the win in the third heat to secure pole position for the Super Heat. Davis then went wire-to-wire in the Final to claim the victory. Faris Al-Otoom took second with Wentworth winning the battle for third over Widmer as James Wells was fifth.

Briggs Junior division was decided on and off the track. A time of 54.077 led the way in qualifying from Trevor Clinton, beating out Christian Abbassi by 32 thousandths for fast time. Clinton led every lap of the first two heat races before he was challenged in the third heat. In the end, Clinton still grabbed the win ahead of Abbassi and Tyler Griffin, who recorded the fast lap of the race. The Super Heat was led by Clinton in 10 of the 12 laps for the win over Abbassi. The 18-lap main event saw Clinton leading every lap to take the provisional win. A 10-second penalty for ‘manipulation of the start’ cost Clinton the top spot and a place on the podium, while Abbassi crossed the line in second, only to be penalized five seconds for ‘unsportsmanlike maneuver’. This put Griffin to the top of the podium with the victory with Gabriel Nguyen in second and Abbassi ended up third. Braelynn Edwards was fourth with Ronan Howard in fifth.

Felix James Beauchesne won both main events in the Cadet divisions (Photo: ChallengeKarting.com)

Felix James Beauchesne was the only driver on the weekend to win twice. The Briggs Cadet action was a sweep for Beauchesne, beginning with a 54.602 lap time in qualifying. All three heat races were big wins for Beauchesne followed up by a 10-second advantage in the Super Heat. The Final was another green-to-checkered performance for Beauchesne, running away to a 12-second margin of victory. Liam Kramer and Otto Powers joined him on the podium.

The action in 60cc Cadet was a great battle between the five drivers on the weekend. Tyrus Fickling recorded the quickest lap in qualifying to edge Felix James Beauchesne by 93 thousandths. After Fickling won the opening heat race, JJ Tucker went on to win the other two motos to claim the pole position for the Super Heat. Tucker led the opening lap before Beauchesne took control and went on to win. From the pole position, Beauchesne led all 19 laps of the Final to claim the victory. Fickling was second with Tucker completing the podium in third.

“Reflecting on the weekend, the racing was great, the paddock vibe was very positive and racers had good things to say about the Shinko tire,” added Seesemann. “For most of the competitors, this was their first experience with the tire. I have had nothing but positive feedback from those in attendance, both at the event, and in post event comments on social media and notes sent directly to me.”

“The biggest question was ‘what are your plans for the future?’ I will do some post event analysis and determine if the region wants more than a one race Cascadia Karting Cup for 2027 and beyond. While 70 plus racers was a great start, in order for the program to have staying power, we need more entries for it to make sense for both me and the competitors. My charge to those who were in attendance is to tell your competitors, both friend and foe, what a great time you had and that they should have been there. My staff and I have great confidence in what we provide as being professional, fair, family friendly and fun. If this recipe is what folks in the PNW are yearning for, we will see you again, sooner rather than later.”

The timetable and registration for the inaugural Cascadia Karting Cup presented by Shinko Racing Kart Tires have been confirmed. Cascadia Karting Cup Announced from FTK Promotions

One-off event scheduled for October 2-4 at Pat’s Acres Racing Complex

FTK Promotions is excited to announce the creation of a one-off event for the pacific northwest region. The Cascadia Karting Cup presented by Shinko Racing Kart Tires is confirmed for the October 2-4 weekend at the Pat’s Acres Racing Complex. The Canby, Oregon facility has been a marquee circuit for the region with the event to celebrate the end of the karting season with support from competitors, teams, and kart shops.

Andy Seesemann, owner of FTK Promotions, is no stranger to the region and Pat’s Acres Racing Complex. In 2021 and 2022, FTK Promotions hosted events at the Canby, Oregon facility through the California ROK Championship program.

“Pat’s Acres has a long history and one of the more unique facilities that we have in the USA,” stated Andy Seesemann of FTK Promotions. “Since moving my business to the region, I’ve spent a lot of time talking with key figures within the sport that call the pacific northwest home. We have many great clubs and tracks, and a lot of karters within the area. October is a dead spot in the schedule for the region and this is a great way to provide a final big race for the karting community.”

Pat’s Acres Racing Complex is a multi-motorsport facility with a 6/10-mile karting circuit. PARC is partnering with the Portland Karting Association to provide a 10-round Oregon State Karting Championship Series program. The latest round was the Beaver Cup event in May. Their September 5 event will feature the PARC Night Race and the OSKCS closes out at Pat’s Acres on October 25.

“I am excited for the racers here in the northwest to take part in a special event like this,” stated Chris Egger of Pat’s Acres Racing Complex. “This is a chance for racers to experience a high standard of professionalism with the program that Andy and his FTK Promotions crew provides, as we have seen with the Challenge of the Americas and California ROK Championship programs. We are thrilled to partner with Andy for this event and whatever the future may bring.”

Seesemann and FTK Promotions is moving forward with the event with support from those within the industry based in the pacific northwest. Multiple teams and shops have already pledged their support for the Cascadia Karting Cup presented by Shinko Racing Kart Tires event.

Aaron Neliton of Neliton Race Concepts is among the newer karting teams and has been a Challenge of the Americas supporter for the last few seasons. “We are pretty excited about Andy putting on a race up in our area as there are not a lot of good, well run races to attend up in the pacific northwest. I have loved the Challenge series for its 19 years and that makes this all that much more exciting for me and our operation. We will have our team attend the Cascadia Karting Cup and expect to have 15-20 drivers competing.

Cameron Egger, owner of Sigra Race Development, is based in Canby, Oregon and was among the first teams to pledge their support for the Cascadia Karting Cup. “I cannot express how excited I am for yet another opportunity to race at Pat’s Acres Racing Complex with the type of professionalism that Andy and his team bring. This historic track always delivers great racing, a welcoming and family friendly environment and a lot of smiles. An event like this can send us off on a great path from 2026 and into the 2027 season. The facility is a great place to race and camp in the same weekend, so let’s end 2026 on a great note here in the pacific northwest.”

TCR Driver Development is a new operation based in Boise, Idaho, providing karting products and race team for the region owned by Tyler Coffman. “I was immediately excited to hear of the plans Andy has for a regional event at Pat’s Acres this fall. It should be a great turnout with that amazing race track. We are looking forward to bringing some local Kart Idaho talent out to the regional stage in Oregon.”

PGP Motorsports Park owner Scott Cowell is excited about introducing racers from his Kent, Washington facility to the atmosphere of FTK Promotions events such as Cascadia Karting Cup at PARC, “The regional sprint racing calendar in the pacific northwest wraps up pretty early in the year. We are excited to have another quality event on the schedule late in the season. The combination of a world-class track and Andy’s track record of running top-tier races should make for an awesome event!”

Seesemann continued, “I’m pleased to have the support from so many of the teams and industry members in the region. Once word gets out and momentum builds, I expect many other teams and racers in the Cascadia area will want to come join in the fun.”

Details regarding the Cascadia Karting Cup presented by Shinko Racing Kart Tires are to be announced in the coming weeks. Information will be published on the challengekarting.com website with a special page for the event along with updates coming through the Challenge Karting Facebook page and Instagram account.
