Challenge of the Americas Offers Briggs 206 Shootout for Utah

Series finale at Burt Brothers Motorpark to offer $1,000 purse for additional category

The 18th season for Challenge of the Americas championship program will come to an end over the June 13-15 weekend at the newly renamed Burt Brothers Motorpark in Grantsville, Utah. The event will mark the first time the series hosts a fourth event in a season, while also making its first trek to the ‘Beehive State’. Adding to the excitement of this year’s championship finale is the COTA Briggs 206 Shootout.

The COTA Briggs 206 Shootout is open to drivers 15-years and older and will utilize the Shinko Racing Kart Tires in what will be a two-day event for the category. No on-track action will take place on Friday with Saturday and Sunday the only days COTA Briggs 206 Shootout competitors will be on track. A format of warmup, qualifying, three heat races and a long main event over the two days will decide the winner of the inaugural COTA Briggs 206 Shootout.

To highlight the COTA Briggs 206 Shootout is set to offer up a $1,000 cash purse for the podium finishers. The winner takes home $500, second place earns $300 with third place taking home $200. The purse will increase with every entry over the first 10 drivers.

The COTA Briggs 206 Shootout drivers will compete on the Shinko Performance ‘Green’ tires that come in the 4.5/6.0 sizes. The minimum weight is set at 360lbs. with Sunoco 91 available at the facility gas pump as the spec fuel. Entry for the Shootout is set at $650, which includes a set of Shinko Racing Kart Tires and driver pit pass.

“One of the largest categories at the Burt Brothers Motorpark Karting Championship is the 4-Cycle divisions, which utilize our Shinko Racing Kart Tires and the Briggs 206 engine platform,” stated Andy Seesemann of FTK Promotions. “Throughout the first part of 2025, we’ve shown the performance of the Shinko brand with the 2-cycle categories. With the COTA Briggs 206 Shootout, we can allow for local and regional drivers to join us at our series finale, and experience the Shinko Performance tire that is spec in Utah and other club programs in the region.”

Registration to the Challenge of the Americas series finale at Burt Brothers Motorpark is currently open at ChallengeKarting.com. Motorhome spots are available on the weekend with the standard $150 rate within the paddock. Those seeking electric hookups, the powered VIP Motorhome spots adjacent to the paddock are available for $500 for the event. No sewer hookups available.
