Re: Rotax Mini MAX Squish Change

As you may know, we at the MAXSpeed Group are always trying to listen to our customers and some have been unhappy with the current Rotax Mini MAX regulation in regards to the minimum squish gap. In trying to make this class as level playing field as possible, we have come to the conclusion with the help of our customers that the performance of the package has declined.

Our intentions are high and with current tests we know we will be able to provide all Rotax Mini MAX competitors and their supporting teams with a solid baseline coming with the new EVO products. However, the first races of the season would suffer if we were to stay unchanged; therefore, after some careful and data-filled testing at the Homestead Karting facility this past weekend, we have come to the conclusion that the current 2.8mm squish setup is not suitable. MAXSpeed Group has decided to lower the minimum squish to 2.4mm, as this will increase the level of performance to a level we are happy with for winter racing at both the annual Rotax Challenge of the Americas (COTA) and Florida Winter Tour (FWT). 12-Month Warranty Campaign

Screen Shot 2014-09-02 at 1.56.34 PMMAXSpeed Group, the United States distributor for Rotax MAX, Mojo and XPS products would like to announce a 12-month Warranty Campaign in conjunction with BRP-Powertrain effective from September 1, 2014 until the end of the calendar year.
All Rotax MAX Engines (DD2, Senior, Junior, Mini and Micro) sold between the dates of September 1, 2014 and December 31, 2014 will automatically receive 12 months worth of warranty, rather than the normal six-month time frame. Offering an extended warranty such as this boasts BRP-Powertrain’s commitment and efforts in providing the best and most reliable engine package in the karting market.

All engines sold by MAXSpeed Group to their service centers and dealer network will be registered for this program utilizing the engine serial number. No registration by purchaser or end user will need to be completed.

The 12-Month Warranty Campaign is valid on new engines only.

RMC REGULATIONS 2010 BULLETIN 1 (2010.01.27)

Rotax has released an update regarding the minimum length of the Rotax FR and DD2 spark plug wire. The bulletin is available on the USRMC website.

Effective Immediately;

Rule 11.6
– Minimum length of ignition wire (high tension wire) is 210 mm from outlet of cable at ignition coil to outlet of cable at spark plug connector ( = the visible length of wire)
– Ignition coil must be in working condition (to be tested in case of doubt)
