Registration for Cascadia Karting Cup to Open August 3

Weekend format confirmed for October 2-4 event at Pat’s Acres Racing Complex

The timetable and registration for the inaugural Cascadia Karting Cup presented by Shinko Racing Kart Tires have been confirmed. The October 2-4 event set for the Pat’s Acres Racing Complex in Canby, Oregon will be a special one-off event to welcome in the fall season and one final celebration of the sport before the cold weather moves into the Pacific Northwest region.

The inaugural Cascadia Karting Cup presented by Shinko Racing Kart Tires will be a three-day event with one main event for the 10 categories. Pat’s Acres Racing Complex is set to host a practice day on Friday, October 2. Official sessions begin on Saturday, October 3 with warm-up, qualifying, and three heat races for all classes. Sunday, October 4 features a warm-up, SuperHeat session and the Main Events.

FTK Promotions owner Andy Seesemann anticipates the on-track action to wrap up by 3:30pm local time with podiums to follow at 4pm. “One thing about the events we put on is track time. All the categories will get plenty of racing laps over the two days of action, while giving plenty of time for competitors to pack up and head home at a decent hour on Sunday.”

Registration for the inaugural Cascadia Karting Cup presented by Shinko Racing Kart Tires is set to open on August 3. Entry fee will be $375 for the Saturday/Sunday portion of the weekend, which includes driver’s pass as well. Each competitor will be required to purchase one set of race tires with each entry. Competitors are allowed to practice with race tires if they so choose. Pat’s Acres Racing Complex will collect Friday practice fees while also managing the reserved pit spots and camping.

A special offer will be available for competitors wishing to enter but pay cash at the event. A $100 reserve fee paid by credit card locks in a competitor’s entry. On the weekend of the event, those competitors must pay the balance in cash, not by check, not by credit card, but cold hard cash. If they pay using anything other than cash at the track, a late fee of $125 will be charged. Pre-entries and reserve fees are non-refundable.

The Cascadia Karting Cup presented by Shinko Racing Kart Tires will have 10 classes, featuring 2-cycle and 4-cycle competition similar to that from Challenge of the Americas and divisions from within the region. The Briggs & Stratton 206 powerplant is utilized in four classes at Cadet, Junior, Senior and Masters age groups. The other six feature multiple engine formats for the different age groups and styles. 60cc Cadet, 100cc Junior, 100cc Senior and 100cc Masters will have three manufacturers – IAME, Vortex and X Series. Shifter Light and Shifter Heavy allows for the KZ models and ROK Shifter engine.

All 10 classes at the Cascadia Karting Cup will compete on Shinko Racing Kart Tires. The 4-cycle categories along with 60cc Cadet will utilize the Shinko SHS63 (Green) compound while the remaining five 2-cycle divisions compete on the Shinko CIK Prime (Yellow) compound. Pushback bumpers are mandatory in all classes except for Shifter Light and Shifter Heavy.

Entry will open August 3 on ChallengeKarting.com registration page. To contact Pat’s Acres Racing Complex regarding practice, pit spot reservation and camping details, reach out to Carly Peeples at carly@patacres.com or call 503-568-4561.
