CRC Withdraws CalSpeed event and shifts focus to Pat’s Acres.

After assessing pre-entry totals and speaking with several of our supporting teams, California Rok Championship promoter Andy Seesemann has decided to close entries and cancel the May 20-22nd CalSpeed event of the California Rok Championship.

“With the projected entry numbers far less than expected, the event was simply not sustainable,” details Andy. “After speaking with the teams, the schedule in Southern California is just too busy.  Our event was right in the middle of 8 racing events over a 9-week span.  Unfortunately, something had to give. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, and I will personally contact all our pre-entries to issue a full refund or credit towards a future event.”

The CalSpeed cancelation has no bearing on the June 24-26th event at Pats Acres Racing Complex in Canby, OR. CRC staff are focusing all their efforts into Pat’s and growing this into “the” event of the summer season. Pat’s entry will go live in the upcoming days. “We had great success with the Pat’s Acres event last year and this year looks to be even larger,” continues Andy. “There are several Pacific NW teams that have contacted me about attending, with one large team predicting that they will bring 15-20 racers. This event will become an annual event, much like the Challenge of the Americas is for the southwest during the winter months. EKN will be onsite with their EKN live coverage all weekend. There is FREE open camping in the lower wooded pits, a river around the track, and a great atmosphere akin to the spirit of the CotA series that we all love. We are 100% committed to CRC at Pat’s Acres in 2022 and beyond. Many in the karting community already know, but I want to officially announce that FTK is relocating to the state of Idaho in just a few weeks. All Rok and LeVanto distribution and FTK Promotions will continue from our new shop just outside of Boise. I look forward to working with a new community in our sport and continuing to service everyone as the West Coast distributor for Rok and LeVanto.”

Challenge of the Americas 2023 is in the final planning stages and teams can expect an announcement soon regarding the 16th season of the premier winter series of the left coast. “I can’t wait to share dates and details for our 16th season,” concludes Andy. “Racers and teams can count on CotA 2023 to deliver the same quality experience they have come to love over the last decade and a half. We will have tickets to Italy, tickets to Vegas as well as our famous driver raffle. We will announce the dates and tracks in the upcoming months.”

Once again, thank you for the support and understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me and I look forward to seeing all of you at Pat’s Acres in June. – Andy Seesemann
