Gatorz Karting announces date change for February event at Calspeed Karting Center

September 28, 2010 (Orange, California) – As a result of a change in the expected date of the NASCAR Sprint Cup event at Auto Club Speedway, the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas has announced a date change for the second event of the 2011 season. The event at the Calspeed Karting Center at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif. will now be held February 18-20, putting all Gatorz CotA events on the third weekend of each month. Continue reading

Calspeed Saturday finals postponed to Sunday

Our ambulance was called away to transport someone from our paddock to the hospital, and will not return for at least one hour. In addition to that, the standing water, and the decreasing light, we are ending today’s racing program and will begin tomorrow at 8am. We will likely begin with the five main events that we did not run today, but won’t have schedules ready until tomorrow morning.

We did run one main event today, with Justin Coplen winning the CKI Senior Max final. Garrison Masters was second and Bobby Kelley was third.

Gatorz Challenge of the Americas set for second showdown of 2010

February 25, 2010 (Orange, Calif.) – Picking up where the series left off a month ago at PKRA in Phoenix, the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas is traveling west to compete at the Calspeed Karting Center in Fontana, Calif. located at the Auto Club Speedway. The series will use the backwards Grande configuration, which provides exciting, competitive racing and provided several last-lap surprises at last year’s CotA weekend. And with the series expecting more entries than in Phoenix, with the addition of several very fast drivers, there will only be more of the same this weekend in Fontana.

Every qualifying session, heat race, and main will be broadcast with live timing and scoring, commentary, and video from the series website at www.gatorzkarting.com.
